I am Nicolas Barrière-Kucharsi. Game designer currently living and work in Montréal.
In the past, I have worked on a variety of games for platforms such as iOS/Android, Facebook and Flash. Of note are two installments of Gameloft’s “Gangstar” franchise for tablets and smartphones. My roles in production have often been shifting into various areas of game design, such as narrative, systems and content design, to more hands-on roles like level design and scripting.
I love working in a positive, upbeat and creative environments alongside cheerful people with a genuine passion for teamwork and crafting quality interactive experiences. I enjoy games with either good accessibility, meta-game elements, well-developed story or very distinct art direction. Some of favorite games are titles such as Jet Set Radio Future, Rez, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. I adore comic books, animation, electronic music and other varied forms of entertainment.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Creative 3D Arts at the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and a industrial certification in Game Design from the National Institute of Digital Entertainment in Quebec City.
